I've started playing FM a lot more recently so feel my knowledge growing.
But definitely hadn't heard of Payet, Lanzini etc. I think the last overseas signing that I actually knew very well of was Kouyate, but that was only because the Belgium league was my second favourite a few years back. Six teams often fight til the end for the title.
My dad would be the same as these fans. I think even once I told him the players name I just mentioned was made up, and he tried telling me that "there is a player in Brazil with that name I think. Young lad, quite fast"

What an inept attempt at a prank. If you ask "do you think Fernando would be a good signing?" then supporters have every right to say "yes" even if they have never heard of the guy. You can trust your clubs directors/manager/scouts to make good singings. And if you do trust that process then you are entitled to think that *any* new signing is potentially a good one.
Would have been far better to ask them to describe what makes him a special player or how he'll fit into the team etc..

Come on most of those fans were fake mickey mouse gooners fans, he probably got a thousand reply's of who The feck is Wuurst ?.
But still, Like someone below said this Wuurst looks better than our newest loan player Emineke, even though ive never seen him play i would still take a punt on a five foot actor than Emineke who controls the ball like a bloody dolphin.

It's bollocks that we're signing this Emmineke bloke when a quality player like Fernando Wirst is available. Just goes to show what a two-bob scouting network we've got.
I've been saying for ages that we should sign him as he's got two great feet, gets around the pitch, is the right side of 30 and he knows where the goal is.
I've been telling the club this and they look at me like I'm some sort of idiot.

I've been aware of him for a few years - he was great at Lille as well. That was really the time to get him. I think he played a fair amount on the left wing back then and even up front I think. So there are options with him. He's one of those free-role creative players that you get on the continent but rarely in England - that would be my only worry, that there will be not much defensive contribution from him.

Not all fans can have heard of every player, but Arsenal fans are clueless wankers.
Many moons ago, there were some right cocks in the Firkin in Hornchurch watching the charity shield game and virtually as one, they all shouted 'Go on Wrighty' as a black fella went through on goal.
The cunt has been playing for us for a year and summed up what a plastic set of wally's they are.

I've never heard of half the players we sign last few years!
Hadn't heard of Payet, Cresswell, Kouyate, Sakho, Lanzini, Byram, Antonio, Adrian... etc.
Used to pride myself on my football knowledge, now just happy to focus on west ham.
